Learn to crochet! How to make a crochet chain

I filmed this short tutorial to show you one of the first things people learning to crochet do, make a crochet chain. This chain can be a decorative tie for your hats, any place you need a tie or used as the beginning row of your project. All you need is yarn of any weight, a hook of comparable thickness as the yarn and the patience to practice until you can form even loops.

What you should look for in a chain:

1. Loops that are big enough for your hook to go inside if the chain will be the first row of your crochet

2. Untwisted chains, all the loops face toward you smoothly

3. A tightened slip knot so that you don't mistake it as an extra chain loop.
